Single Mine Origin (SMO) Gold provides full provenance by linking every gram directly to the specific mine where it was produced. Unlike most gold, which is blended from multiple sources before refining, SMO gold remains segregated and audited from the mine through to the finished product. SMO mines are selected for strong environmental, social and governance performance, working to internationally recognised standards such as the World Gold Council’s Responsible Gold Mining Principles. Each batch carries a QR code and batch number, enabling makers and customers to trace the gold and learn about the mine’s community investment, environmental projects and working conditions.

Good as Gold™ reflects our commitment to achieving the highest social and environmental standards across everything we cast. After years of exploring ethical sourcing options — including Fairtrade, post-consumer recycled gold and SMO — we developed an approach that supports both people and the planet. Good as Gold™ combines: 50% post-consumer recycled gold, keeping our carbon footprint as low as possible and 50% Fairmined Gold via a mass balance credit system, providing financial support to artisanal mining communities. This model draws inspiration from renewable-energy purchasing. When you buy green electricity, you don’t receive it through a dedicated cable — but a verified amount is added to the grid. In the same way, our Fairmined contribution ensures that certified, responsibly mined gold enters the global supply, even though the physical gold we cast remains recycled. For every gram of recycled gold we purchase, we also buy a Fairmined credit at $4.70 per gram. These funds help artisanal mines improve working conditions, eliminate mercury and cyanide, invest in environmental restoration and build safer, more resilient livelihoods. Mining will continue for as long as gold is in demand. By adopting a credit-based model, we minimise our footprint while empowering small-scale miners to adopt better practices.

Electronic waste is the world’s fastest-growing waste stream, and many devices contain small amounts of gold used for its reliability and resistance to corrosion. Specialist recyclers recover this gold from discarded electronics before refining it back to a purity identical to newly mined metal. Using gold recovered from e-waste: diverts hazardous waste from landfill, reduces the need for new mining, and supports a more circular, low-carbon use of precious metals. We are currently in discussions with potential suppliers who can provide gold sourced purely from e-waste — not mixed streams — allowing us to offer a casting gold that comes entirely from reclaimed electronics.

Fairmined Gold is an assurance label for gold from responsibly managed artisanal and small-scale mines that meet world-leading social and environmental standards. Certified mining organisations receive fair prices and additional funds to reinvest in safer practices, environmental protection and the long-term wellbeing of their communities. Fairmined provides traceability throughout the supply chain and encourages continuous improvement in mining methods, helping small-scale miners participate in the global gold market on better terms.

Fairtrade Gold is a globally recognised ethical certification that supports artisanal and small-scale miners and their communities. Fairtrade International works directly with organised mining groups to ensure they receive a fair minimum price for their gold, along with a social premium that miners invest in local priorities such as schools, healthcare, clean water and infrastructure. The Fairtrade Standard sets clear requirements for safe working conditions, responsible chemical use, gender equality and environmental protection. Fairtrade supply chains are independently audited, ensuring full traceability from mine to finished product.

Recycled gold is recovered from pre-existing sources such as jewellery scrap, workshop waste and other precious-metal materials, then refined back to a purity suitable for high-performance casting. Because gold can be recycled indefinitely without losing its properties, it offers the same strength, consistency and casting quality as newly mined metal. We source our recycled gold from reputable UK refiners such as Betts Metals, whose advanced refining processes ensure a clean, reliable alloy with excellent fluidity, surface finish and predictable behaviour during casting. Recycled gold allows us to deliver high-quality castings while supporting a more sustainable precious-metal supply chain.

Recycled platinum is recovered from existing sources such as jewellery scrap, industrial components, electronic waste and spent catalysts, then refined back to a purity suitable for high-performance casting. Like gold, platinum can be recycled repeatedly without losing its properties, so recycled platinum offers the same durability, strength and casting quality as newly mined metal. The refining process separates platinum from complex waste streams and brings it back to a high level of purity, suitable for fine jewellery and precision casting. Using recycled platinum keeps valuable material in circulation and reduces the need for further extraction. Recycled platinum offers the prestige and longevity of this noble metal with a clearly reduced environmental impact.

AGAIN silver is recovered from medical X-ray film and other imaging materials that contain light-sensitive silver compounds. Instead of allowing these materials to become waste, the silver is carefully extracted through specialist recovery processes and then fully refined back to high-purity casting silver. Because silver can be recycled indefinitely without losing its quality, AGAIN silver offers identical casting performance to newly mined metal. The refining process removes all non-metallic residues, returning the silver to a clean, bright, fully certified alloy suitable for fine jewellery, investment pieces and precision cast components. AGAIN silver offers makers a way to work with beautiful, high-grade silver while supporting the responsible reclamation of materials that would otherwise be discarded.
