The Responsible Casting Company was created because our industry has long struggled with transparency around material sourcing. Our founder, Jos, has spent his career trying to do business better, and knows from experience that it is rarely straightforward. It is easy to look the other way when buying precious metals, but for us that was never an option.
Our sister company, E.C.One, was the first jewellery business in the UK to become a B Corp, and Jos made the first piece of jewellery in certified Fairtrade gold. Those experiences quietly shape how we work today. It felt wrong to create jewellery – often given as a symbol of love – if the materials behind it were doing harm. Once we had learned the craft of casting, we wanted to offer a more responsible way of working and share those options with others.
Jos is a Master Goldsmith with over three decades of experience in jewellery design, making and ethical sourcing. As founder of E.C.One, he created the first piece of jewellery in certified Fairtrade gold and helped the business become the UK’s first B Corp jeweller. His work is driven by craftsmanship, transparency and a commitment to doing business in a way that benefits both people and the planet.
Brogan is our brilliant CAD designer who has worked in the jewellery field for over 10 years. Specialising in Matrix, she combines strong technical skills with a practical understanding of jewellery production and CAD workflows. From translating sketches into precise digital models to preparing designs for casting, she helps ensure each piece is both beautiful and technically sound.
Nimesh is our ‘Master Caster’. An experienced casting technician who has worked with leading jewellery houses including Vashi and Vipa Design. He brings deep practical knowledge of precious-metal casting, from complex bespoke pieces to production runs, and plays a key role in ensuring our castings are consistent, reliable and finished to a high standard.
E.C.One is our sister company and one of London’s leading independent jewellers. Founded by Jos and Alison Skeates, it has built its reputation on craftsmanship, thoughtful design and a genuine commitment to ethical practice. E.C.One was the first jewellery business in the UK to become a B Corp, reflecting its long-standing belief that beautiful jewellery should be made in a way that respects both people and the environment. The studio continues to champion independent designers, responsible sourcing and transparent production.
